Among the world-class athletes of the Ironman 70.3 European Championship, the long distance specialist Maik Twelsiek finished sixth today. Behind the winner Michael Raelert, Sebastian Kienle finished second and Björn Andersson got third. The Commerzbank athlete Twelsiek passed the finish line after 4:16.37 hours. That was a hard day in Lake Placid and I had to fight for every meter. Last year I felt like flying over the course. But this year, my legs did not work like they used to do. Ben performed extremely well. I knew that he was good on the running course. So I tried to push hard on the bike. Maik Twelsiek finished third today at Ironman Lake Placid in 8:48:33 hours and was the second Commerzbank athlete to get on the podium this Sunday after the second place of Marino Vanhoenacker in Antwerp. Maik Twelsiek finished third today at Ironman Lanzarote and got the fifth Hawaii ticket for the Commerzbank Triathlon Team.
