Anti-Doping Programme
von Commerzbank, am 03.07.2008
The anti-doping programme concept was developed by the German National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), the German Triathlon Union (DTU) and the internationally known anti-doping expert Sylvia Schenk. She shares her knowledge and experience with us at workshops and by helping to continuously develop the concept.
An overview of the Commerzbank Triathlon Team Anti-Doping Programme:
• Outside competitions, the athletes are tested at least 10 to 12 times per year, rather than the up to six tests as usually for German athletes.
• Additionally NADA carries out one to two pre-competition tests immediately before competitions.
A database with a blood profile is kept for each team member, thereby maintaining a long-term overview of the key blood values.
Blood and urine samples are frozen so that future testing can be carried out for substances such as growth hormones (in the blood) that are not detectable at present.
We hope that all sport disciplines will benefit of this initiative in future.
