Triathlon Awards 2009: Second place for Timo Bracht
(15.02.2010)The readers of the German “Triathlon Magazin” decided that the Commerzbank athlete Timo Bracht is the second best triathlete of 2009. The athlete from Eberbach got 17,7% of the votes, in front of the Olympic Distance World Champion Alistair Brownlee from Great Britain and behind Andreas Raelert who finished third on Hawaii. 2009 was the most successful season evermore

(03.02.2010)Let's talk about the 2009 IM European Championships first. You took the gold medal. How was the race, how much do you value this title?
It was my best race ever: Hot and fast wetsuit swim, challenging bike ride, and a tacical and in the end very fast marathon to finish under 8 hours.
After my victory 2007 in Frankfurt, this was my best race ever against the best triathletes in the world. Eneko, Macca, Andreas Raelert, my teammate Mathias Hecht and I raced without compromises this day. It was a 100% race every single meter...more

He was training with friends and several times we fighted together against the tough passat winds from the north/east on the island. Later on he asked me if I wanted to start with his wife at the Commerzbank Frankfurt Marathon.
