Timo Bracht is about to win his third European Champion Title/ Jan Raphael also starts in Frankfurt
(29.06.2010)The Commerzbank athletes Timo Bracht and Jan Raphael celebrated their biggest successes so far at Ironman Germany. For the titleholder Timo Bracht there’s not much room for improvement: Last year, he won his second European Title and added a new course record on top. So it would be difficult for the German to be happy with a second place. In the past his teammate Jan Raphael already became sixth and fourth in Frankfurt. Since then he finished among...more

Timo Bracht: “The season ahead may be the most important of my life.”
(22.06.2010)With the bar already set so high, there’s not much room above it for Timo Bracht to rise this season, the Commerzbank athlete having celebrated the most successful season of his career so far in 2009. After winning his second European Championship title in Frankfurt, an outstanding sixth place in Hawaii followed – not to mention the numerous top placings over half and short distances. “Clearly I travelled to Hawaii as one of the favourites,” assessed the ambitious Eberbacher. “But I was so dogged by bad luck in the swimming that by the first change many people had already written me off. (21.06.2010)Marino “Bink” Vanhoenacker seems to be achieving one Ironman victory after another. Having been unlucky two years in a row in Hawaii, at the start of the 2010 season, he chose to take part in a competition where the conditions would be just as uncomfortable as those on the Pacific island. In the oppressive heat and extreme humidity of Malaysia, the Commerzbank athlete finished almost half an hour ahead of the contestant in second place. Even he was surprised, as...more
