(11.01.2010)2009 was a very eventful year. With a new personal best Ironman time (8h11min) and 5th place in the Ironman European Championship (Ironman Germany). Also another solid performance (even if I expected a bit more, still a result that showed me, I am in the mix with the best ones in the world) in the Ironman Hawaii World Championship. And a great 3rd place in Wiesbaden at the 70.3 Ironman Germany where I battled for 2nd place till the very last 2km with the current 70.3 World Champion Michael Raelert. (28.12.2009)Christmas was a little bit earlier for me this year: A few days before Christmas I received an Oakley Radar Pitch which I had won in the Advent lottery of the Commerzbank Triathlon Team. I was happy! Now I can wear these cool sunglasses during my Ironman races. The next competition will be Ironman 70.3 Rapperwil in June 2010...more
